Man faces attempted murder charges

Published Tuesday, March 31, 2009

A Banks man was indicted by a Pike County Grand Jury last week and now faces charges of attempted murder.

Brandon Wade Bundy, an 18-year-old white male, will now face trial after he allegedly attempted to murder a local woman in July 2008.

According to court documents, Crystal Culpepper filed a witness statement making the allegations against Bundy.

“I pulled into Manis Pittman’s second drive. Brandon Bundy pulled into the first driveway,” the witness statement read. “He pulled a pistol out of his car window and shot at me inside my car seven to eight times.”

Culpepper further stated she had received cuts from the car windows, and she believed her life was in danger.

“I finally got away and came straight home. I was afraid for my life,” Culpepper said in her witness statement.

No trial date has been set at this time.

What was this guy thinking>

Posted by TroII (anonymous) on April 1, 2009 at 5:51 a.m. (Suggest removal)

He thought he could kill me because I am an atheist with homosexual tendencies.

So the guy was indicted - was he arrested? Had he already been arrested? Is he in jail? Did he make bond? How much was his bond? Come on, ask the follow up questions!!!!

Posted by turtle (anonymous) on April 1, 2009 at 8:04 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Yes he was arrested, yes he stayed in jail for about two months before being bonded out, his bond was I believe 50,000.

I hope that they put him in prison. He is worthless.

“He pulled a pistol out of his car window and shot at me inside my car seven to eight times.”

Thank goodness he is a lousy shot.

Was this something random or did they know each other?

Posted by elvis2 (anonymous) on April 1, 2009 at 10:27 a.m. (Suggest removal)

This is an odd article with its scant infomation . I don't recall reading about this back in July when it happened . Home seemed an odd place to go after such an incident , I would have headed straight to the sheriffs office .

Omg a person like this should be used in international wars and put in the front lines as an extar body! Then lets see if he likes being shot at!

Virtuous they knew one another, and are actually related. It was in the paper when the incident happened and the details are in there.

This guy has always been in trouble. I can remember when him and my brother went to school together at Banks.. He was ALWAYS in some kind of trouble. I see he never learned his lesson. He's still going down the wrong road like he was when he was younger. Maybe this will teach him.

I have known Brandon his whole life and Christie my whole life. Christie and Brandon's mother were arguing and he decided to take up for his mother. He is a sad example of today's youth. They just think about settling arguments with a gun and not their minds. He was a troubled child who has now turned into a trouble young man. Maybe some jail time will straighten him up. The incident happened at the home of his grandmother Mavis (not Manis) Pittman. Mrs. Mavis is a very sweet loving person and I am sure this is killing her. I'm glad Chrisite is okay and I believe if he had really been trying to kill her he was close enough to do it, it is a very small yard. He deserves jail time for stupidity.

I'm staying neutral, I'm Switzerland in this matter since I'm related to both, however the argument between the family members had taken place like two weeks earlier. There was no arguement that day. Also Christie is extremely lucky, there was a bullet in her driver side head rest within inches of her head! Someone once made the comment about our family "they are some good people and get along with everybody...except each other!".

Maybe now he will learn his lesson going to jail.

We do argue a lot don't we turtle. I am sorry i shot at you! Can you get them to drop charges on me?

Brandon is a good boy. He doesn't need jail time.If he would have been trying to hit her I think he would've. I know both parties and I know what was going on with both parties. He has a new baby and does not need jail time. He already served enough time for his wrong doing. He has learned his lesson. He has a great job and has worked since getting out on bond.

Sure Troll LOL. I have to be willing to joke because to be quite honest my family has enough to worry about without adding this to it. In the past seven months we have had not one, not two, and not three but FOUR of the eight core family members in the hospital for very serious medical conditions including cancer and heart problems, Brandon's own grandfather recently suffered a serious stroke. In all honesty I say let the courts handle it, whatever happens happens because unlike with illness this was a deliberate decision made by someone to place themselves in this position. Maybe it was a stupid, heat of the moment decision but he still put himself there, no one forced him to do it. I do hope he has learned a lesson.

bsenful---That has to be the most ignorant statement I have ever read on these article comments. "He doesn't need jail time. If he would have been trying to hit her I think he would've. He has a new baby and does not need jail time."

Are you SERIOUS? Wow, okay...so you're saying if someone is planning on trying to shoot someone SEVEN to EIGHT times...make sure you have a kid 1st, before you do anything....because then you won't "need" jail time.
Unbelievable!!!!

Posted by monk_jonas (anonymous) on April 2, 2009 at 11:09 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I have to agree with TroyAlumna.....I don't think good boys shoot into occupied vehicles. I wonder what your definition of a bad boy would be?

Posted by faithfulzoovistor (anonymous) on April 2, 2009 at 11:41 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I know everyone involved here. He has been in trouble numerous times, but every time, someone in his family knows someone to get him out of the harshest penalties. it seems he just gets a slap on the wrist. In my opinion, it needs some help, maybe it is jail. i

Posted by tisktisktisk (anonymous) on April 2, 2009 at 2:48 p.m. (Suggest removal)

So what he has a kid so does she you idiot, and he should have thought about this before he pulled the trigger. He knew he was going to be a daddy and shot anyway, the child will be better off without him.

Posted by auburnfan (anonymous) on April 2, 2009 at 3:32 p.m. (Suggest removal)

I believe Brandon's mother and Christie are first cousins. So this turned into quite the family squabble. Someone call Jerry!

Posted by regis (anonymous) on April 2, 2009 at 3:42 p.m. (Suggest removal)

"Brandon is a good boy."

LOL!!!

Posted by faithfulzoovistor (anonymous) on April 2, 2009 at 3:56 p.m. (Suggest removal)

LOL I agree regis

Posted by Bamabunny (anonymous) on April 2, 2009 at 7:44 p.m. (Suggest removal)

I agree TroyAlumna

bsenful......you have to be kidding right? He served his time and has a job since getting out on bond and doesn't need more jail time and served enough time because he has a baby but was arrested for attempted murder.

What's wrong with all that bsenful???
