Fatality victim's identity confirmed

Published Tuesday, June 16, 2009

A Brundidge man who died in a traffic fatality Friday night was identified Tuesday as William Tyrone Foster.

Foster, 36, died Friday around 11:15 p.m. when his truck collided with a tree on County Road 4421 in Brundidge, said Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams.

“He was driving a pickup truck, that left the road and hit a tree,” Williams said.

When officers arrived on scene, Williams said Foster’s body was burned beyond recognition.

But, the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences was able to confirm Foster’s identity by using his dental records.

“We were able to obtain his dental records and identify him today,” Williams said.

Williams said Foster, who lived on County Road 4421, had just left his residence when the incident occurred.

The case remains under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers, the Brundidge Police Department, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and the Pike County Coroner.

My sympathies go out to Tyrone's family. His daughter was one of my "softball babies" and Tyrone was always there rooting Teeh on, encouraging all of the girls and not letting them get down. He will be missed.
