Car possibly connected to Ozark shooting seized in Troy
Published Friday, July 24, 2009
Troy Police stopped a vehicle within city limits Thursday evening that was allegedly connected to a shooting in Ozark.
Ozark Police Chief Tony Spivey said the Ozark Police received a call claiming a shooting had occured at a local motel.
Ozark Police issued a “be on the lookout” for a 1997 Gold Lexis that may have been connected to the incident.
Troy Police Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough said the Troy Police stopped the vehicle around 6:20 p.m. Thursday in the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 231.
The vehicle was occupied by three black males from Montgomery County, and they were detained for questioning at the Ozark Police Department.
But, Spivey said after questioning there were no charges filed against them.
“We didn’t have anybody reporting a crime other than people heard shooting,” Spivey said. “The truth of the matter is, we actually have no idea what really happened.”
Spivey said after the shooting was reported, shell casings were found on the scene. The incident may be related to drugs, he said.
Another suspect vehicle was reported to have headed south, but that vehicle was not stopped.

I agree Bamabunny. Thank you TPD. Great job!
Bama, Maybe we could get Blue_Sky to explain the finer points of a stop of this kind and the role the courts may or may not have in a case like this. I'm sure there must be loads of knowledge he could impart on us on this issue.
Bama, you don't have to respond. I don't want the meanies at the Messenger removing your comment.

bama, monk, did you guys see how fast they removed that crap
about Graning last night???
Posted by monk_jonas (anonymous) on July 25, 2009 at 4:32 p.m. (Suggest removal)
Yes I did WDM. Seems like the one who wants us to take abuse can't handle a little herself. Funny how something Bama said could get removed, and they left up comments he said about me that are too vulger to repeat for several days, even after I e-mailed Ms. Graning and asked that it be removed. He (and we all know who 'he' is) has said on here many times that he's smarter than Graning and the Messenger bunch. I'm starting to believe him, and that is a sad commentary about the Messenger staff. If they want, they can remove this too. If they so choose, they can remove my ID. I think the comments made that were removed so quickly last night were pretty right on the spot. And just to keep this on topic, once again, job well done TPD.

monk_jonas , I'd like to hear Blue-Sky explain that stop also . He's a downright wizard on explaining things . Hope you haven't frightened him off .

LOL elvis2, he is a wizard on explaining things, isn't he. He said he's going to keep posting to give us knowledge. But I don't think I scared him, Blue_Sky is as tough as he is smart. Just ask him, he'll tell you. LOL.

Bama, thegame raked Ms Graning over the coals. I can't remember what he said, I only saw it one time, but I don't think he was happy about your comment being removed and I'm not sure what else...it was quite a rant. If memory serves me well, I think he called her Stacy Troll, or something like that. Am I right about that WDM? Like I said, I only saw it one time, it wasn't there very long at all. Not only did his comment disappear, but it appears 'thegame' is no longer with us. To be fair, he wasn't nearly as rough on her as 'the one we're not supposed to offend or mention' has been on you, your daughter, your deceased husband, and on me and my deceased wife. Anyhow, she says we're to keep comments on topic so, way to go TPD. Good job TPD.

Yes,he said she was his wife, beautiful but stupid etc.etc.At first it was thegame but after it was removed in 5 minutes miz1234 was back on saying the same kind of crap. And it was removed right away.Last night it was edge doing the same thing.He/she would post the same thing multiple
times on about for articles.Oh yea way to go TPD.

that should have been(four)not for!

lol... cant say he was wrong wdm... sometimes i wonder about the situation with troll and the messenger... i wonder what hes hanging over their head... also... as someone pointed out to me recently... i find it very odd that Jaine Treadwell took a lot of rude comments from people on the jackson story... and most of them were no removed but just a few minutes after thegame or others said things about her, they were gone... kinda funny... but yeah back on topic... GO TPD!!! thank goodness we have them... even though a lot of people dont like them id hate to think of troy without them... it would be a lot like new orleans after Katrina... not good!
Posted by monk_jonas (anonymous) on July 26, 2009 at 3:50 p.m. (Suggest removal)
WOW, WDM, I didn't see those others you mentioned. Sounds like 'thegame' wanted to make sure someone got his point. I see he's been banned now. Maybe he'll be back with a new ID name. I didn't always agree with his opinion, but when things were down he was always one of the good guys.

shiftingshadows,I thought the same think about the Treadwell
deal,I think they should have disabled the comments like they have in the past.I am with you about the TPD overall they do a good job with very little thanks.

yeah... it sure is nice seeing us all keep it on topic... lol
Posted by monk_jonas (anonymous) on July 26, 2009 at 5:02 p.m. (Suggest removal)
Being one of those old enough to appreciate and relate to some of the things Ms. Treadwell writes about, I enjoy many of her articles. She took an unfair beating on the Michael Jackson story by some very rude and heartless people. There was no excuse for those comments about her, and should not have been tolerated. Those comments should have been deleted and the comments disabled. Like Gomer said to Barney, 'there's two sets of laws'......I guess we all know where we and Ms. Treadwell stand in that double standard. Oh, by the way, great job TPD!
Posted by Bamabunny (anonymous) on July 26, 2009 at 6:02 p.m. (Suggest removal)
I guess I missed a lot last night......sorry I did. I'm also sorry others got banned in my defense.
I do think of Jaine Treadwell too....and she took a lot of slaps in that MJ story....she voiced her opinion and did not deserve what she got in return.
When I think about things...and I know many feel the same....but when a person (the person that has many names that he tries to hide behind them) that has no conscience or emotions and makes terrible comments targeting people....it's human nature to react. The responses and posts are not at all foul or damaging as his own to others are.
I dare anyone to not respond to someone stating to you personally that "I'm glad that your husband is rotting in his grave"....."I hope your kids get raped and killed and I will dance on their graves and pee on them." He was referring to my husband and my kids.
He also made reference to Monk's deceased wife.
Then he posts that "he does not know why people are so mean." Then with another name he made up....post something about "how mean people are and why does everyone pick on him?"..trying to give the impression that someone is agreeing with his posts.
This person also said that "Christ molested children." That sent me over the edge.
This person is incapable of posting a clean draft.....and even if he uses another name....within the first few posts we know who he is.
It is then that I post my opinions...answer his remarks but many times over I disregard what he said. Sometimes one cannot "disregard".
It is easy to try to be something that you are not in a forum...as he does. Thing is he thinks he is posting intelligently but only shows his lack of reasoning and his immaturity trying to make people think he is what he projects. Last night his chosen profession was a Police Officer aka Peace Officer....and a lawyer.
So to those thinking that this person is an innocent little lamb....I suggest to you...a better understanding that there are always 2 sides to every story.
I still think the TPD is tops!

My thoughts exactly, Bama. I'm a poor man, so the spelling of Lexus/Lexis is of no consequence to me. Can you spell Taurus?
Posted by elvis2 (anonymous) on July 28, 2009 at 1:07 p.m. (Suggest removal)
I'll be the spoil sport and ask the question that hasn't been asked yet . Why wasn't the car headed south not stopped?? If it didn't meet the description , why was it mentioned ?

Taurus the horoscope bull? Or Taurus the car? lol
I'm a Sebring convertable.

elvis2, I was wondering about that same thing. Scratching my head on that one. Maybe we should ask Blue_Sky.
Posted by Bamabunny (anonymous) on July 28, 2009 at 2:21 p.m. (Suggest removal)
LOL Monk.
Which one Monk? The "peace officer" or the "lawyer"?
I'm sure that the TPD had their reasons for not stopping that southbound car....but I too am curious about that.
Posted by monk_jonas (anonymous) on July 28, 2009 at 2:33 p.m. (Suggest removal)
Since it was a spur of the moment decision, maybe we should ask Blue_Sky the 'peace officer', first. Then we could let Blue_Sky the 'lawyer' explain why everything the 'peace officers' did was wrong. I'm sure he has volumes of knowledge to enlighten us with.
Bama, like you, I'm sure TPD had a reason for not stopping the southbound car, however, like elvis2, I'm wondering since it wasn't stopped, why mention it in the article? Where's Blue_Sky when we need him?
Posted by Bamabunny (anonymous) on July 28, 2009 at 4:38 p.m. (Suggest removal)
LOL how does one respond to that? LOL
All I can think of is "Sky King"......remember him?
Anyway.....I am impressed that whatever the TPD looks out for.....they always seem to get!

Of course I remember Sky King. I was telling my son about that show just the other day. It came up while I was telling him about some of the old programs like Sea Hunt, Have Gun Will Travel, Dead or Alive, and the Rebel. Wow, those are some blasts from the past! (I wouldn't trade one Sky King for a thousand Blue_Sky's, though, lol).

Joe Friday...."Just the facts mam just the facts".
Posted by monk_jonas (anonymous) on July 28, 2009 at 6:42 p.m. (Suggest removal)
Now Barney Fife was an amazing, courageous lawman. Think about it. If you face something or someone you're not afraid of, no matter how dangerous the situation may be, that's not really courage, because you're not afraid of it in the first place. On the other hand, if you face things you're afraid of, things you would rather not face, but you reach way down inside and face them anyhow, that shows true courage. That was the case in almost every episode Barney was on. Therefore, Barney was a courageous lawman (can I put my bullit in my gun now, Andy?).
