70 marijuana plants lead to arrest
Published Saturday, January 3, 2009
Two Pike County men have been arrested stemming from a search warrant that turned up approximately 70 marijuana plants that were being grown inside one Glenwood residence.
On Monday, the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jeremy Elmore and Jason Walker on charges of marijuana possessions. The arrests come from a Nov. 17 search by the CCSO at a King Street home in Glenwood.
Inside the home, investigators found 70 marijuana plants, which were seized, along with one handgun and other drug paraphernalia. The home was filled with flood lights and portable heaters that were set up to ensure the growth of the plants.

Good job Crenshaw County Sheriff's Dept. Troy had nothing to do with it. It was not in Troy or even in Pike county.

Yeah, this war on drugs is going super well. Eradication efforts are obviously a great use of tax dollars. It'll all be won soon.

Well wherever they find drugs whether it be in Troy or any place else and make arrests...it's always a point for the good guys.
I think most police departments around here are sending clear messages that drug use and selling will not be tolerated on any level.

I completely agree MessengerReader23. The war on drugs is almost won, and not a moment too soon. Can you imagine the horrible things these two people could have been responsible for if someone actually smoking some of their marijuana. If I remember correctly from my high school guest speakers, marijuana is extremely deadly in small doses, makes individuals cannibalistic, was responsible for the Holocaust, and gives babies AIDS. We certainly don't need marijuana on our streets and we need to continue to spend billions of dollars a year making sure of this. I'm just glad I saw this headline in the Messenger today instead of "Stoner Nazi Cannibals Terrorize Troy University." We definitely dodged a bullet.

I have only 2 things to say to "Showdown".....
Now I know what happened to Rosemary's baby.
Perhaps if you wash your fruit before you eat it...it may help you think better.
