Voter fraud more than ‘fuss’

Published Saturday, October 25, 2008

Ever wonder if all this fuss about possible voter registration fraud is simply that – a fuss?

Well, considering a dog here in Pike County received a personally addressed voter registration form this month from the Alabama Democratic Party, we’d have to say there’s legitimate cause for concern.

On Friday, The New York Times published reports saying that ACORN – the community organization group at the heart of much of this year’s voter registration fraud issue – registered far fewer voters than previously claimed.

Early this month, ACORN and its affiliated “Project Vote” charity reported that they had registered 1.3 million new voters this year.

However, a Project Vote leader this week adjusted that figure to 450,000 new voters, a far cry from the original figures.

That’s because at least 400,000 – according to ACORN’s own estimates – of the newly registered voters were ineligible. No surprise there … what with folks like Mickey Mouse and Captain Chito, the Hamilton Crossroads Bison Frise being asked to register this year.

The right to vote is one of the most precious freedoms we have here in America. Sadly, the process of democracy is being violated by special interests and politically based efforts to register voters, with the hopes of rallying support for a particular candidate.

It’s a shame and an embarrassment to our country.

Absentee ballots and early voting combined with bloated registrations will be key elements in the stealing of this next election. While absentee ballots and early voting were created to allow people to vote they will be abused by those who follow the old Chicago advice - "vote early and vote often". Both devices enable some people to vote in multiple jurisdictions and you can bet that's just what they are doing.

Amen! If people don't care enough to go to the court house and register to vote, then they don't need to vote. I am against all of the "get out the vote" programs. I cast an educated ballot and I don't want it canceled out by a warm body that is brainwashed or bribed into voting. I also don't understand all of this early voting. The US Constitution clearly states that the election be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Why is the Federal Election Commission doing something about all of the widespread fraud? Why aren't they demanding to see a vault copy of Obama's birth certificate? Does America no longer care about right and wrong?

Why are people scared of Obama?

We are scared of Obama because he is a pathological liar with serious socialist tendencies who associates with deplorable people who hate our country. Furthermore, he has very little government experience and absolutely no understanding of domestic or international issues. Finally, he is one of the most corrupt individuals who has ever run for national office in this country (and that is saying a lot)

fanoftroy , you nailed it dead center . If YEM , in the event Obama wins , waits a few months they will find out what you and I and others have been stressing throughout this campaign.

I am scared of Obama b/c if his friends Rev Wright and Mr Ayers. He has the potential to be more "heavy handed" than Bill Clinton dreamed of being.

I'm not scared of Obama! I do worry about candidates like McCain/Palin and their minons who can't seem to win on the issues, so they resort to playing the fear and blame game. It reeks of the ugliness of political desperation. In fact the hate is stinking up the place. It'll be nice to have some fresh air in here.

Ever heard the old saying "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it"? Well we're there now. And I'm afraid we are really going to get it. Pray for our nation like you've never prayed before!

"This year, Stone said 1,036 absentee votes were cast, but that number isn’t much higher than other elections."

So much for that flood of fraudulent Pike Co. absentee ballots everyone was freaking out about. Seems fairly consistent with previous years voting.
