The Pike Lib girls fell in overtime to Crenshaw Christian Academy, 52-49 Thursday night.

The Lady Patriots trailed most of the game, but were able to tie it up with less than two seconds left in regulation when Katie Wiggins made a strong move to the basket and hit a layup to tie the game at 44 and send the contest to overtime.

Sara Sellers led Pike Lib with 25 points, while Eady Pinkard had 11 and Josie Griffin added seven points.

Crenshaw seniors Chelsea Petrey and Kelsie Moody had 19 points each for the Cougars.

Crenshaw won despite not scoring a basket in the fourth quarter. The Cougars had 10 points in that period, but each point came from the charity stripe.

But the Lady Patriots wouldn't go quietly. Down by 11 in the third quarter, Pike Lib would fight back with Sellers taking over. The senior, who has scored more than 1,000 points in her career, scored from inside and outside as the Lady Patriots clawed their way back into the game.

But the combination of Petrey and Moody would prove too much for Pike Lib. The seniors were able to control the ball late in overtime when the Lady Patriots were forced to foul. Petrey was flawless from the free throw line, while Moody went 9-for-14. But Moody made the ones she had to make, a perfect 4-for-4 in overtime.

The Lady Patriots travel to play Glenwood today.
