TPD seeking weekend robbers

Published Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Troy Police are still investigating several robberies that occurred through the Thanksgiving holidays.

On Sunday, five burglaries and one theft of property were reported on Gibbs Street, and Academy Street residences and vehicles also were burglarized through the break.

Police Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough said items stolen, from both homes and cars, ranged from electronics like iPods and cell phones to other personal items.

Some of the cars broken into were not locked, Scarbrough said.

Scarbrough said police are working to apprehend and identify subjects who are responsible for these crimes.

Anyone with information should contact the police at 566-0500.

When does anyone need to rob another person today? We have Obama as the president now. He is going to make the poor rich and the rich poor! Where's the sense in robbing others when we have all these taxes to legally rob others of their hard earned money? Be patiance and sit on your butts and wait, you will get it soon enough! Jeeeeez!

Yeah yatta, personally I dont understand why it is an issue that the cars were unlocked, no reason to blame the person for not locking their car. I guess this day and time they are saying, we dont feel sorry for you if you dont lock your car.

Showndown2, I know you are not a lawyer, I think you a liar. If you were a lawyer then you would know that you need evidence to prove your false statement.

It is not a false statement, but why do you think I am a liar? I am just going by the conversation between this deputy and his "friend".

Are these robberies or burglaries? Isn't a robbery committed by using force? Just wondering.

These cars were racially profiled. You didn't see any cars on Spradley Dr being robbed.

Racially profiled?? Hmmmm.....Jack_Bauer what's the deal about the cars being racially profiled, and then your comment about not picking up "White Trash" in Brundidge? Also why is TPD always blamed for robberies panzi? TPD seems to be always blamed for all the crimes in their district. I guess it is their fault that there is one dead another one in jail for murder!!

Posted by Jack_Bauer (anonymous) on December 3, 2008 at 4:48 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Racially profiling is kind of like stereotyping - ex: 1 common stereotype is that people of Brundidge are white trash.

always making racial remarks.....its a trend

Locks only keep honest people honest, a thief will find a way. Whether he is green or purple Jack.

Robbery is taking property from a person or in his presence against his will by force, threat of force or intimidation. Burglary is the unlawful entering into property (building or vehicle) with the intent to commit a crime as opposed to trespassing which is unlawfully entering onto property.
An unoccupied vehicle, dwelling, business etc, cannot be robbed - - it may be trespassed or burglarized but robbery requires the presence of a person.

Jack,get a life.

That's a pretty nasty comment Jack.

Posted by alonecitygal (anonymous) on December 4, 2008 at 3:34 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Hmmm.....People of "Brundidge" are what was that, "WHITE TRASH".......stereotyping.......it is comments such as these that condone crime Jack_Bauer!! It just gives some the go ahead and do it.......pathetic......purely pathetic!!

Jack...your comment....These cars were racially profiled. You didn't see any cars on Spradley Dr being robbed.

So why is it that you chose to name Spradley Drive? FYI there have been cars in the subdivision that have been broken into and things stolen...and on Spradley Drive too.

Jack....how is it that you can feel comfortable enough and feel you have the right to call people of Brundidge "White Trash"...when I cannot even say "Merry Christmas" in public?

What makes you feel that you have that right Jack? I truly want to understand where you are coming from with this and how you process your thinking.

Posted by alonecitygal (anonymous) on December 4, 2008 at 4:35 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Futhermore Jack_Bauer so if people in "Brundidge" are "WHITE TRASH" then where do you "suggest" all the so called "WHITE TRASH" people go? ALOT of residents in Brundidge are elderly and/or sick on "fixed incomes" and happen to be very nice genuine people, no matter what color their skin is or race. Not all the residents is Brundidge are "white" by the way!!!

Bamabunny I agree with you, what gives "Jack_Bauer" the "right" to call the people of Brundidge "White Trash" and I also would like to understand the process of his thinking as well. But "his" process of thinking is obviously racially motivated! It is not a stereotype, it appears to be racial.......

Also Jack_Bauer when you want to make an "example" and abbreviate, it is not ex: it is eg:!!

Posted by Bamabunny (anonymous) on December 4, 2008 at 7:11 p.m. (Suggest removal)

For showdown....

In a court of law...if you said...(and I quote)"I am just going by the conversation between this deputy and his friend" that would be totally inadmissible and classified as "hearsay".

Why is it that you demand documents and proof with what everyone else says but if YOU make a statement we must take your word for it?
