TPD still looking into shooting

Troy Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Johnny's Auto Repair on Highway US 231 South at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. According to information released by Chief Anthony Everage, the victim was shot one time in the face with a small caliber handgun.

Albert Carter, 51, of Brundidge was taken into custody in connection with the shooting by Troy Police a short time after it occurred. Police also recovered a firearm believed to be involved in the shooting.

The victim was transported to Edge Regional Medical Center in her personal vehicle for treatment of injuries she received in this incident. She was later transferred to Flowers Hospital in Dothan in serious condition. No further information was available on the victim's condition at press time.

Charges are pending on Carter in this case and he remains incarcerated in the Troy City Jail.
