Lady Trojans finish fifth at UAB Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Troy State women's golf team fought through bad weather and rain delays to fire a final round 324 to take fifth place at the UAB Lady Blazer Invitational on Tuesday at the par 72, Inverness Country Club.

Northern Iowa posted a 305 in the final round to take the title with a 612 two-round total. UAB finished in second place, two shots back at 614. Laura McCaslin of Birmingham-Southern won the individual competition after posting an even par, 72, to finish with a two-over par total of 146.

Jenny Tidwell led the Lady Trojans, firing a seven-over par, 79, in the final round to finish with a 156, 12-over par total. Tidwell had the best individual finish for Troy State, tying for 13th.

Tracy Tidwell posted a final round 83 to finish in a tie for 18th at 13-over par, 157. Allyson Wills shot final round 82 to finish in a tie for 22nd at 14-over par, 158.

Lynsey Williamson posted an eight-over par, 80, to finish in a tie for 54th at 170, 26-over par. Lori Garrett shot a 16-over par 88 to finish in a tie for 63rd at 176, 32-over par.
