Lady Eagles down Carroll, fall to Samson in area game

From Special Reports - The Goshen Lady Eagles defeated Carroll 6-1, but lost to Samson 10-6 in a Class 2A area contest, committing six errors but outhitting the Tigers nine to seven.

Candy Kilpatrick had three hits and four stolen bases. Ashley Miniard and Candi Faulkner each had two hits for Goshen.

"Our lack of intensity for seven innings came back to haunt us," said GHS head coach Dee Hughes.

In the Goshen win over Carroll, the Lady Eagles pounded out seven hits with Miniard's 2-for-4 effort at the plate leading the way. Arlona Shipman, Mandy Kilpatrick, Megan Johnson, Faulkner and Candy Kilpatrick also had hits for Goshen. Heather West was the Lady Eagles' winning pitcher.
