A Brundidge man was killed earlier this week while collecting trash.

According to information from the Alabama State Troopers post in Dothan the fatal accident occurred at 8 a.m. July 25 on Coffee County Road 105.

DeShawn Jalcor Brown, 20, was collecting trash for Mark Dunning Industries, Inc. when he was struck by a 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Jeffery Lewis Peavy of Ariton.

Brown was transported to Dale Medical Center and pronounced dead at 10:57 a.m., according to the Troopers' report.

"There's nothing I can say about it," Don Clark of Mark Dunning Industries said of the accident that is still under investigation. "I wish I could."

But, he did say Brown "was a very good employee" and had worked for the company about a year.

Alabama State Troopers are still investigating the accident.
