Margaret Anderson Hay
Margaret Anderson Hay, 95, of Troy died Tuesday, August 10, 1999 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 13, 1999, at First United Methodist Church of Troy with the Rev. Danny Doss officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
She was born on January 28, 1904 in Madison, Georgia. She served as a postmaster in Georgia until her retirement in 1970. She was a member of Troy First United Methodist Church and served on the Administrative Board. She was a member and past regent of the Oliver Wiley Chapter, DAR, Member of the Captain Thomas Carter, Sr. Chapter DAC, past member of UDC, Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, Florabunda Garden Club, 19th Century Club, St. Andrew's Society, Clan Hay Society, and Clan Anderson Society. She served as a Troy State University Centennial Lady.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Hay Quarles of Troy; two grandchildren, Susan Haden Quarles and William Shelton Quarles, both of Troy.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Draper of Melbourne Beach, Fla., Gene Ragan of Dothan, Billy Ragan of Cuthbert, Ga., H.J. Middlebrooks Jr. of Blakely, Ga., Alfred Holston, Ray Sullivan, Tommy Dillard, Elbert Williams, and Stephen Parker, all of Troy.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Troy, 213 N. Three Notch Street, Troy, Ala. 36081.
Visitation will be held between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., Friday, August 13, 1999, at First United Methodist Church.
