In a long year of firsts for the Sun Belt Conference, Troy (4-2) pays its first visit to the Georgia Dome to face Georgia State.

The Panthers program is only in its fourth season of existence but joins the Sun Belt hungry for success. After finishing the 2012 campaign 1-10, Georgia State looks to first-year head coach Trent Miles to lead the team to FBS glory.

Troy comes in as heavy favorites and does not disappoint. Corey Robinson connects with B.J. Chitty for a score on the game’s opening drive. After the Trojans defense holds the Panthers to a three-and-out, it’s Deon Anthony’s turn. This time on a 5-yard run to put Troy up 14-0.

The second quarter trudges along with both teams pounding the ball on the ground. Lou Groza watch list member Will Scott adds a field goal to make it 17-0 heading into the break.

The second half opens with an explosion of offense from Troy. After a defensive stop, Robinson hits Eric Thomas for a long gain to get the Trojans rolling. Daron White scores on a short run and the Trojans are up 24-0.

Georgia State fumbles the ensuing kickoff return and Troy recovers at the Panthers 21. It only takes two plays for Anthony to scamper to the endzone and extend the lead to 31-0.

The Panther finally get on the board late in the third quarter with a field goal and score a touchdown in the fourth. Scott answers for Troy with his second field goal of the game.

With the win the Trojans move to 5-2 on the season, 2-1 in Sun Belt play, and just a win shy of becoming bowl eligible.

RESULT: Troy WINS going away, 34-10.

STAT OF THE GAME: Eric Thomas 5 receptions, 92 yards
