“With more than 1,000 international students representing more than 70 countries enrolled at this campus, Troy University has brought the world to Troy,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor. “Not only have we brought the world to Troy, but through our study abroad programs and our international partnerships, we have taken Troy to the world. We are very grateful for the partnership that Troy University enjoys with the Troy Rotary Club and we appreciate the investment they have made – first through the Rotary House and later through Pace Hall – to help our international students feel at home on our campus.”

In addition to entertainment provided by international students, the University also recognized the top 10 countries represented by students at the Troy Campus. They are: China, Denmark, France, India, Nepal, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, and Vietnam.

The Rotary International Luncheon is one of several activities ongoing throughout the week as a part of the International Education Week celebration. On Wednesday, “Tastes of the World,” featuring samples of food and drink from around the world, will be held on the University’s Social Quad from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The week’s activities will culminate with the annual International Student Cultural Organization Festival in the Trojan Center Ballrooms, beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets for the festival are $10 for students and $15 for adults and are available in the International Programs Office in Hawkins Hall on the Troy Campus.

International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
