The Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in Brundidge hosted the February Brown Bag lunch Tuesday with Chris Rich, Troy University theater professor, as the guest speaker. Rich and his wife, Sarah Dismukes, who is also a Troy University professor, were on sabbatical leave during the fall semester. They took the opportunity to visit Ireland and Serbia. The focus for Dismukes, an artist with an interest in bookmaking, was visiting with a bookmaker in Serbia and Rich’s focus of interest was the international theater festivals in Ireland and Serbia. Rich shared the highlights of their sabbatical leaves with those in attendance at the Brown Bag Lunch through a PowerPoint presentation that included places and things as specific as the Book of Kells, the Library of Trinity College and the Guinness brewery and, as generally amazing, as the churches, the cities, the villages, the botanical gardens and the vast countryside. And history was everywhere they went.
