Pastors from the Troy area will meet with the community at Troy Elementary School today at 5:30 p.m. for a special time of prayer for the teachers, students and faculty.

Pam Edenfield, a first-grade teacher at Troy Elementary, organized getting pastors together for the special event.

“I asked teachers to invite their pastors to come out,” Edenfield said. “The pastors will spread out across the campus in the hallways and each pastor will lead a prayer with the group of people that have gone down the hallway with him.”

Edenfield organized the prayer meeting last year, so she got the call to organize this year’s meeting when they decided to hold the event again.

“It’s just a time of coming together to show that we support each other,” Edenfield said. “I believe in the power of prayer and it’s nice to have pastors come to the actual campus to pray for the faculty, students and administration.”

Charles Henderson Middle School will hold its event Thursday, Aug. 4, at 4 p.m. and Charles Henderson High School will have its on Monday, Aug. 8, at 6:30 p.m.
