In their first three golf matches of the year, the Charles Henderson High School Trojans have placed first in one tournament and second in the other two matches.

On March 8, the Trojans participated in a tournament in Elba and placed second overall. Lindsay Lee was the low medalist, shooting 82.

The team had their first home match of the season on March 10 at the Troy Country Club. The players had a nice gallery made up of parents and other students. The Trojans finished the tournament in second place behind Opp High School. Other teams in attendance were Elba, Eufaula and Straughn. Lindsay Lee again shot the lowest for the Trojans with an 84.

The Trojans had a head-to-head match with Eufaula on March 14 and came out on top by defeating the Tigers. The Trojans were led by Grant Wilkes’ 84 and Griffin McCrary’s 88.

“I am extremely proud of our team and the direction that we are headed”, said Coach Shelby Tuck. “The scores are not where I would like for them to be at this point in the season, but we are going to continue to work hard and improve daily.”
