The Troy Chapter of the National Council of Teachers of English and Waters’ Young Adult Literature class at Troy University and other university students are participating in the African American Read-In.

“The Troy University students will read with and to students and will provide tutoring,” Waters said.

“They will encourage reading comprehension and reading for pleasure. The university students will share work that features professional African American writers, African American literature and art that celebrates the African American experience.”

All reading levels and all ages of readers are welcome.

The 2016 National African American Read-In will continue at the TPL throughout the week at 3:30 p.m. daily and on Monday, February 15.
