Margenia Casey Arrington Ready O’Neal was born July 10, 1926. She slipped away from us and into the hands of God on February 2, 2016 after a brief illness. She spent her younger years in Jacksonville, Alabama and was the daughter of Frank and Christine Casey.  Margenia attended Jacksonville State University and then was an airline stewardess with National Airlines before she met and married Thomas Arrington. She and Thomas raised four children in Troy: Tom (Jane) of Mobile, AL.; Suzanne (John) Holley, Lilburn, GA.; Christy (David) Lawrence, Destin, FL.; Richard (Alexandra) Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by her husband George O’Neal, with whom she spent many happy years in Destin, FL.
In the face of death her strong faith gave her incredible courage as well as an amazing sense of humor. She had a wonderful 89 and ½ years. Her grandchildren are Amy Stubblefield, J.T. Arrington, Amanda Jones, Caroline Womack, Marjorie Crawford, Laura Lawrence, Christine Arrington and also seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands Thomas Arrington and Jimmy Ready and her siblings Frank Casey, Jack Casey, Dan Casey, Jim Casey, Fred Casey and Linda Griep. Margenia asked that in lieu of flowers an act of kindness be done in her name and make any donations to Emerald Coast Hospice or the hospice of your choice. A family graveside service was held at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the O’Neal family.
