Ada Gertrude Porath Parnell, age 97, a resident of Troy, died Sunday, October 4, 2015. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Minister Bobby Templin officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Interment will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Mrs. Parnell is survived by her children, Julia Anna Dillard (Tommy) of Troy, AL, Thomas G. Parnell (Madalyn) of Lowery, AL and Laura Catherine Anderson of Helena, AL; grandsons, Jonathan Parnell (Michelle) of Columbus, MS, Dennis Parnell (Cathy) of Navarre, FL, Troy Parnell (Camellah) of Daphne, AL, Toby Anderson (Marie) of Greensboro, NC and Blake Anderson (Cristal) Anderson of Helena, AL and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, Thomas A. Parnell and a granddaughter Meredith Parnell.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Parnell, Dennis Parnell, Troy Parnell, Toby Anderson, Blake Anderson and Dennis Anderson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Collegedale Church of Christ, the Alzheimer’s Foundation or you favorite charity.
