A Mobile man was killed in one-vehicle wreck on the Shellhorn Road early Saturday morning.

Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams said said Stephen Zalophany, 23, of Mobile died when the truck he was driving veered off the road and crashed into a tree. The wreck took place about 2:20 a.m. Saturday.

Williams said Zalophany had been travelling towards Troy on County Road 1101, known locally as Shellhorn Road. “The vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree,” Williams said.

No other vehicles were involved and no one else was in the truck at the time of the accident.
