Memorial services for John (Johnny) Edge Mitchell, 85, of Troy, who died on September 26, 2015, will be at 3 p.m., Friday, October 2, at Park Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Danny Arnold providing the eulogy and musical services by Mr. Dave Laliberte.

Mr. Mitchell was born August 29, 1930, in Pike County, Alabama. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Carr Mitchell.

Survivors include his only child, Jonah Larita Mitchell; grandson, Steadman Lee Peed of Gulf Shores, AL; granddaughter, Mrs. Hunter Callaway Lolley and husband, Rick, of Camden, AL; grandson, Cortland Edge Peed of Fort Walton Beach, FL; great grandchildren, Jackson Wake Lolley and Vivian LeeLee Lolley; one brother, James Wiley Mitchell and his wife, Ina Kate; special friends, William D. Fish and Megan White; and many relatives and close friends.
