Troy Police are investigating an early morning shooting that sent one man to the hospital on Sunday.

An unidentified man was shot in the abdomen during an argument that took place at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Academy Street.

“The individuals involved were leaving a party when they got into an argument and the victim was shot the abdomen,” said Lt. Bryan Weed, adding that the number of shots fired and the suspects in the case were still unknown as of 10:15 a.m. Sunday.

The victim was transferred to a Montgomery hospital and his condition as unknown at the time, Weed said.

“We’re still investigating the situation and that’s all we have right now,” he said.
