Sunday night will be a special “Night of Praise” at First Baptist Church of Troy as the Celebration Choir presents the live premier performance of “Why We Worship” at 5 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Bart Culpepper, FBC worship pastor, said “Why We Worship” is the title of the new CD released by the FBC Celebration Choir.

“Our music ministry partnered with Prism Music out of Nashville, Tennessee to compile a collection of songs that reflects our passion and attitude toward worshipping the Lord,” Culpepper said.”

The Celebration Choir is the First Baptist Church choir and is made up of 55 members and a live orchestra.

Culpepper said the Nashville recording company came to Troy and recorded the CD of modern church songs. The CD was mixed and mastered in Nashville and will be the second CD released by the First Baptist Church Celebration Choir.

The CD includes such favorites as “He Looked Beyond My Faults,” “We Declare Your Glory” and “Worship the Great I Am.”

The premiere performance of “Why We Worship” will also include personal experiences shared by church members.

“Several church members will share their personal experiences of the worship of God and what that looks like in their lives,” Culpepper said.

The First Baptist Church of Troy Celebration Choir’s “Night of Praise” will be the only live performance of “Why We Worship.”

“We invite the community to come be a part of this exciting night of praise with the First Baptist Church at 5 p.m. Sunday,” Culpepper said.

The Celebration Choir will offer the “Why We Worship” CDs at the weekend presentation for $15 each.

First Baptist Church of Troy is located at 200 West College Street in Downtown Troy.
