Troy home catches fire (photo)

MESSENGER PHOTO/ SCOTTIE BROWN A house fire in the 100 block of East Hodges Street at approximately 11:30 p.m. Sunday left no one injured but did cause minor damage to the residence. Lt. John Register with Troy Fire Department said the fire was “rather involved” when the department arrived on scene at approximately 11:40 p.m. Register reported that no one was in the home at the time of the department’s arrival, but several people had been in the front yard of the residence. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, Register said the fire was believed to have ignited in the kitchen area of the home. Register reported that the damage done to the house appeared to be repairable but could not confirm until a further investigation had been completed.
