Youngsters will be able to learn the fundamentals of football from some of the best in the business today as coach Neal Brown and staff host a football camp.

The camp will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Veterans Memorial Stadium and is open to players in grades one through six. Brown and the entire university football coaching staff will be in attendance.

“We are hoping to get as much of the community to come out as we can. This is going to be Coach Brown’s first camp, in his first year at Troy University, and we are excited to do it,” said Troy University Director of Football Operations Todd Watson. “We look forward to the opportunity to give back to the community and be able to bring some youth out and be able to expose them to the game of football, in a fun and friendly way.”

This camp will give the kids the opportunity to experience Trojan football, by practicing in the stadium with all the team’s coaches.

“Our coaching staff is looking forward to the camp. They get to work with younger kids. Many of the coaches have kids coming and they get to experience coaching the kids the game of football for the first time. For those that have played and have been involved, they will be able to hone their skills and give them the opportunity to work with our coaches. It should be a fun and exciting time.”

Kids interested in attending the camp can still register upon arrival. Registration will take place at :9 a.m. at the Tine Davis Field House right across the street from the stadium. Cost is $30 per player.

Players are urged to dress comfortably for the event, football cleats or tennis shoes will be permitted. No extra equipment will be needed.

All participants will receive a t-shirt for attending the camp.
