Kenneth “Dusty” Rhodes

Kenneth “Dusty” Rhodes, age 72, of Ramer died Monday, May 18, 2015 in Montgomery. Dusty worked with the Alabama Department of transportation and was also a member of the Alabama National Guard for over 30 years until he retired due to illness. He was also a Deacon at Good Hope Baptist Church and Pine Level Baptist Church. Funeral services for Dusty Rhodes will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Pine Level Baptist Church with Reverend WO Sanders, Reverend Danny Shadix and Reverend Richard Rouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Hills Chapel Cemetery. Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. There will be a lie in state at the church from 1-2 PM Thursday. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Rhodes; children, Ken, Kreg, Kyle (Lisa), Kris (Felicia) Rhodes, Audrey (Bryan) Dill, Chris (Shae) Berry; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister, Debbie (Larry) Lester; sister in law, Sue Rhodes; a host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by parents, Jack and Evelyn Rhodes; sisters, Jeanette Horn and Judie Rayborn; brother, Royce Rhodes; son, Dwight A. “Bumper” Berry Jr.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Lester, Jason Lester, James Horn, Dusty Horn, Jeff Schofield and Ryan Rayborn. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Keith Snyder, Byron Wilkes, Larry Snyder, Alabama Department of Transportation Employees both active and retired, and also the members of Alabama National Guard Unit 3rd 117th Infantry in Troy, Alabama.
