Barbara Gilchrist Greer was born on February 10, 1952. Her life has been a gift to anyone that had the privilege of knowing her. Her smile, laughter and fun-loving spirit captivated the hearts of everyone she met. Heaven became a more beautiful place on March 22, 2015 when Barbara Gilchrist Greer was called home to be with our Lord. Barbara was passionate about helping others. She spent most of her adult life as a nurse in Troy, the Atlanta area, and Tuscaloosa.

Barbara was survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Tommy Greer, her father, Joe Gilchrist, her children, son, Benjamin Greer and Jennifer Greer, daughter, Misha Greer and partner Jeri Zemke, daughter, Brittany and Tony DiPastena , her brother, Richard Gilchrist, Sr., and many loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and other friends that felt like family. Barbara “BG” was loved dearly by her six grand -children Erin, Kaitlyn, Garret, Megan, Cade and Riley.

She was preceded in death and now happily re-united with her mother, Ann Gilchrist, grandmother Melva Knight Duke and in laws- Henry and Virginia Greer. A family graveside service will be held in Troy, Alabama on March 27, 2015 at 11:00 am. The family invites everyone to join them in a celebration of Barbara Gilchrist Greer’s life Friday, March 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm, Dillard Funeral Home Troy, Alabama.
