A Goshen man was charged with murder early Friday in the stabbing death of his girlfriend.

Willie James Scott, 70, of 268 Perrywood Road, was being held in the Pike County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Investigators say Scott stabbed his live-in girlfriend, 42-year-old Stephanie Zimmerman, once in the chest during a domestic dispute early Friday morning.

“We responded to a 911 call about 6 a.m.,” said Sheriff Russell Thomas. “It appears to be a domestic situation that turned deadly.”

Zimmerman was stabbed once in the chest, Thomas said. “It appears to have been an argument that went bad,” Thomas said.

Zimmerman and Scott had lived together for more than 10 years, the sheriff said.

No one else was in the residence at the time of the incident.
