PLAS golf off to state

The Pike Liberal Arts golf team will be headed back to Troy Country Club.

Tuesday, the team annonced it had qualified for the AISA state golf championship to be held April 27-28 at Troy Country Club.

The Patriots clinched the state tournament on Monday after winning their match at Troy Country Club with a collective score of 354.

Senior Ryan Johnson led the Patriots with a team-low 71 round, tying him for first place at the match.

Defending state champion Susie Stell dominated the girls’ field, finishing in first place and 21 strokes ahead of the next competitor in the field.
