CHHS sweeps tourney

With four wins over the weekend, Charles Henderson finished undefeated at the Terry Sikes Memorial Tournament on Saturday at Charles Henderson High School.

The Trojans competed in four games last Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, Charles Henderson defeated Northridge 5-4 in a dramatic eight-inning victory.

Later that day, the Trojans defeated Northview 11-1 to cap off their first day in the tournament at 2-0.

On Saturday, Charles Henderson defeated Walker 7-4 and defeated Dothan 3-2.

Against Walker, the Trojans won despite being outhit 14-9 in the game. DeAndre Pitts and Nick Lewis both led Charles Henderson with two RBIs on the day.

And in the nightcap against Dothan, Charles Henderson secured a 3-2 win despite being again outhit, this time a 10-2 margin.

Nick Lewis and Jason Fleming recorded the Trojans’ only two hits in the game as the Trojans scored three runs in the third inning to snag the come-from-behind win.
