Troy tennis hits the road

Troy women’s tennis will hit the road Friday when the Trojans travel to Montgomery for a 2 p.m. match against Alabama State at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.

The Trojans (0-2) are coming off two tough road losses last weekend in Orlando, Fla., losing 4-3 to both Stetson and UCF.

In singles play, Sanae Ohta was the only Trojan to post two victories as she won two matches at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-3 against Stetson’s Isabella Fernandez and 6-2, 6-4 against UCF’s Cortney Cesarini.

In doubles play, all-conference duo Trang Huynh and Anja Cosovic recorded their first two wins of the season at No. 1 doubles, 6-4 against Stetson and 6-1 against UCF’s  Sofia Baptista and Cortney Cesarini.

Alabama State (0-2) opened its season with losses at Mississippi State and Georgia Southern.
