Mr. Joe Spivey of Carrollton, GA (formally of Troy) passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA. He was 73. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Curtis Faulkner and Rev. Glen Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in Belser Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. The family will also receive friends Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Joe was born March 26, 1941 in Pike County, AL to the late Hollis Spivey and Glennie Peacock Spivey. He is survived by a sister and her husband: Betty and Charles Marsh, Temple, GA; aunt: Lena Carswell, Troy; 2 nieces, a nephew and cousins.
