Christmas shopping can sometimes get rather hectic, going from one shop to the other looking for that special gift for that special someone or something for someone who has everything or for those hard to please people on the list.

But shopping doesn’t have to be that way.

The Pike County Cattlewomen will host its first Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at Cattleman Park. The holiday shopping event will feature 40 vendors that will have something for everyone.

Michelle Long, event chair, said the Pike County Cattlewomen have planned a unique and fun Christmas shopping experience and everyone is invited.

“The Cattlewomen’s Christmas Bazaar is more than a shopping opportunity,” Long said. “Chick-Fil-A and Santa Fe will be our food vendors and the bazaar will also feature a performance by SheBANG! cloggers at 11:30 a.m. and a fashion show with fashions from Wise Owl boutique around 2 p.m.”

Beth Milton, a popular local photographer, will have a booth and be available throughout the day to take children’s photographs with Santa Claus.

“Santa Claus is not going to send one of his helpers to the Christmas Bazaar,” Long said. “He is coming himself and we are very excited to have Santa Claus at Cattleman Park. We encourage parents to bring their children to visit with Santa Claus.”

Among the vendors participating at the Cattlewomen’s Christmas Bazaar are Louisville Sweet Water Pecan Company, Butterfly Kisses, Matilda Jane Clothing, Verizon, Lowe’s and Jam Berry Nails and that’s just to name a few.

“We have a large variety of arts, crafts, jewelry, clothing and unique food items like gourmet flavored popcorn,” Long said. “The Christmas Bazaar will be an opportunity to shop at home and among friends. We invite everyone to shop at the Cattlewomen’s Christmas Bazaar on Saturday.”

Admission is $5. Children under 12 years of age will be admitted free. The funds raised will support the Pike County Cattlewomen’s scholarship program.

The Christmas Bazaar is sponsored by Don Walker’s Western Wear, Santa Fe Cattle Company, First National Bank, Alabama Ag Credit, Ken Cox Ford in Troy and Pike County Farmer’s Federation –Women’s Committee and Lowe’s.
