Funeral services for Mr. Derrell E. Norris, age 66, of Troy, will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 2 P.M. from Kent Funeral Home Chapel in Eufaula.  Rev. Kevin Bond will officiate and burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery with Kent Funeral Home  directing. Mr. Norris died suddenly at his home Monday, Nov. 10, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born March 4, 1948 in Texasville, Mr. Norris was the son of the late Mack Edward Norris and Ersel Riley Parks. Mr. Norris had lived the past 15 years in Troy where he had owned and operated Derrell’s Tires. He worked prior to that with the Chevron Gas stations in Eufaula for Barr Distributors and Mr. Bennie Jimmerson.  Mr. Norris enjoyed fishing, camping and casinos.  He was a great family man and especially enjoyed his grand kids, great grand kids and family gatherings.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Norris, Troy; a daughter, Michelle Norris (Chad Jones), Abbeville; a step daughter, Kimberly Roberts, Troy; and three step sons, Luke (Dee) Dykes, Troy, Robert Edward (Robbie) Paul, Cuthbert, GA., and David (Donna) Paul, Ironton, Missouri; a brother, James (Brenda) Parks, Eufaula; three sisters, Linda Dean, Ariton, Jackie Trawick, Ozark, and Connie (Robert) Vidaurri, Victoria, TX.; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert Vidaurri, Dennis Rumph, Chris Senn, Chad Jones, Wyman Yates, Eugene Parks, Jr., and Bubba Brown.
