August finance reports released

The August financial reports for the candidates running in the November 2014 general election have been filed. The candidates’ total donations for August stand at $21,870.

Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas, running as a Democrat, raised a total of $2,070 and spent $13,375.71 in August, including $12,966.27 for advertising.

Thomas received a $200 donation from Bob and Karen Williamson, a $500 donation from Wallace Mobley, a $200 donation from Willie Cope, a $250 donation from Ron Drinkard and received $920 in various donations on several dates throughout August.

Thomas spent $2,276.72 with Boosters Inc. on advertising, $300 with Goshen High School Sports Boosters, $3,375.61 with SO Business Systems on advertising, $2,040.15 with Boosters Inc. on advertising, $52.65 on a post hole auger from Pike Equipment Rental, $1,500 with The Messenger on advertising, $504.67 with The Printing Press on advertising, $619.48 with Lowe’s, $255 with Dixie Living on advertising, $1,944.63 with SO Business Systems on advertising, $150 with Charles Henderson High School Sports Boosters and $356.79 with Sunny South on transportation.

Challenger Jason Youngblood, the Republican nominee in the Pike County Sheriff’s race, raised a total of $125 in non-itemized cash donations and spent no money in August.

Jerome “Bo” Weed, the Republican challenger for the Pike County Revenue Commissioner, raised a total of $825 and spent $499.22 in August.

Weed received a $700 donation from TEC’s LLC and $125 in non-itemized donations over the course of the month.

Weed spent $332.45 with Ideal Graphics on advertising, $91.56 with Sticky Frogs on advertising and $75.21 in advertising with Ideal Graphics.

Incumbent Revenue Commissioner Curtis Blair, running as a Democrat, raised a total of $50 in cash contributions and spent $400 in August.

Blair spent $200 with Dixie Living on advertising and $200 with Troy Cable on advertising.

State Rep. Alan Boothe, running on the Republican ticket in District 89, raised a total of $17,500 and spent a total of $24,819.

Boothe received a $500 donation from Six PAC Inc., a $3,000 donation from Alabama Builders PAC, a $1,500 donation from Alabama Power Company Employees PAC, a $3,500 donation from Automobile Dealers Association of Alabama Inc. Auto PAC, a $5,000 donation form CAREPAC, a $2,000 donation from Retailers of Alabama PAC and a $2,000 donation from Trial-Trust Representing Involved Alabama Lawyers.

Boothe spent $2,450 with Greystone Public Affairs on advertising, $671 with Gary Tromontina Photography on advertising, $918 with Bagley Media Group LLC on advertising and $20,780 with Alpine Advertising on advertising.

Joel Lee Williams, Democratic nominee in the District 89 race, raised a total of $1,300 and spent $3,604.28.

Williams received a donation of $100 from Richard P Millard, a $100 donation from Don Simmons, a $1,000 donation from AL AFL-CIO and a $100 donation from Noel H Kaylor, Jr.

Williams spent $135.16 with The Printing Press on advertising, $271.58 with US Imprints, LLC on advertising, $147.15 with Sticky Frogs Signs on advertising, $130.73 with AL Democratic Party for administrative fees, $1,408.90 with Wolverine Printing on advertising and $1,510.74 with Tennessee Valley Signs and Printing Inc.
