TUSCALOOSA Clarence Haley Grant, Jr., age 82, of Tuscaloosa, died, July 25, 2014, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services were at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at Heritage Chapel with Brother Jimmy Garner officiating. Burial followed in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation was Monday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sanders Grant; parents, Clarence Haley Grant, Sr. and Gladys Miller Grant; and sisters, Margene Grant Phillips, Gloria Grant Flowers and Betty Grant Smith.

Survivors include his daughter, Jenny Cash (Mike) of Hoover; nieces and nephews; brother, Ed Wayne Grant of Montgomery; brother-in-law, Harold Lee Sanders of Tuscaloosa; and grandchildren, Haley C. Mitchell (Lew) of Birmingham and Michael P. Cash of Hoover.

Pallbearers were Mr. Michael P. Cash, Mr. Davis Culp, Mr. Jerry Mims, Mr. Lew Mitchell, Mr. Max Culp, Mr. Jim Stingley, Mr. Santo Moss, Mr. Ronnie Beck, Mr. Ulysses “Spanky” Jenkins and Mr. Tim Robertson.

Honorary pallbearers are the Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church Family, friends of Shelton State Community College, friends of C.A. Fredd Technical College, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ray Connell, and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church and Hospice of West Alabama.
