Daphine Greene Kent, age 93, formerly of Troy died Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Mrs. Kent was born and raised in Troy, Alabama, by her parents Jacob and Mellissa Jinright Greene. She Married Glenn Kent , who after retiring from the Military became the City Manager for Troy. In 1974 he retired and they moved to Florida to be near her daughter and grandchildren. In 2005 she moved with her daughter to Gulfport, Mississippi.

A funeral service for Daphine Kent will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Dillard Funeral home in Troy. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Cemetery in Troy. Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Survivors include, Daughter and Son in law, Glenda and Gary Forrest of Gulfport, Mississippi, Grandchildren, Kevin Forrest of Margate, Florida, Vance (Christie) Forrest of Long Beach, Mississippi, Great Grandchildren, Kevin Forrest of Margate, Florida, Caitlin Forrest of Long Beach, Florida, Lacie Forrest of Long Beach , Florida, several Nieces and Nephews. In lieu of flowers Memorials should be made to the charity of your choice.
