Glennie M. Helms, age 91, formerly of Brundidge, died Monday, June 9, 2014. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00 am from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge with the Reverend Averytt Walker officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. Interment was in St. John Cemetery.

Visitation was held Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge.

Ms. Helms is survived by her sister-in-law, Estelene Helms; her nieces, Deborah and Danny Sheffield, Nancy and Butch Jordan and Judy and Charlie McDonough; great-nieces, Ashley and Dr. Lawrence Johnston, Kalyn Jordan, Savannah McDonough and Victoria McDonough and a great-nephew, Daniel Sheffield.

She was preceded in death by her brother Willie Dean Helms.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Sheffield, Butch Jordan, Charlie McDonough, Daniel Sheffield, Dr. Lawrence Johnston, Dock Carroll and Britt Thomas.

Ms. Helms served in the United States Navy during World War II and served the rest of her career in the United States Diplomatic Service.

Instead of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the S. John Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
