The Town of Goshen continued a tradition Thursday night. To show their respect and appreciation for some of those who have called  Goshen home the longest, members of the Town Council served dinner to the senior citizens of Goshen.
The dinner is held at the Goshen senior center every May.
Goshen Mayor Jack Waller said the dinner was an event he looks forward to each year.
“It’s great to have a time to honor the oldest members of our community,” he said.
On the guest list were State Representative Alan Boothe and State Senator Jimmy Holley.
“Senior citizens are a very important part of our society, and the City of Goshen is doing an excellent job honoring them,” said Boothe, who spoke at the event.
“I’m really glad we have a place to eat good food and socialize with friends,” said 90-year-old resident Susie Hawkins.
The event was catered by Hooks BBQ.
