Troy Music Study Club members attend convention

Troy Music Study Club was represented at the Ninety-Eighth Annual Convention of the Alabama Federation of Music Clubs by Lyndia Dew, Troy Music Study Club President, and Jerry and Betty Spann, both Life Members of the Federation. The convention, hosted by Montgomery Music Study Club, met in the Hilton Gardens Inn in Montgomery April 25-26, 2014. The theme of the convention was “Sweet Music, Alabama.”
Alabama Federation of Music Club’s President, Marsha Harrow from Greensboro, presided at the three general sessions at which reports were given by Board Members, Chairmen and  Committee Members serving NFMC, AFMC Officers, AFMC Division Chairmen and AFMC Officers.
The National Federation guest, Harriet Coker from South Carolina, spoke at the Friday night banquet. A recital by Mary Vick AFMC Student/Collegiate Audition winners was enjoyed by the attendees at the banquet.
Saturday, Bill Peoples, AFMC  Chaplain, coordinated the memorial service, remembering the deceased members this year from the Alabama clubs. Another recital was presented by a Collegiate Audition winner and a Junior Audition winner.
At the Saturday luncheon, Troy Music Study Club was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for participation in 18 Senior Club Activities for 2013-2014. The 2015 Convention will be hosted by Huntsville Music Study April 17-18.
