Seven innings just wasn’t enough to settle the game between the Charles Henderson Lady Trojans and Smiths Station Lady Panthers Tuesday night.

At the end of the regulation innings, the Trojans and Panthers were tied at one. Smiths Station would pound out six hits in the eighth inning, and score six runs to win 7-1 at Hogan’s Hole.

Smiths Station stuck first, with a run in the top of the fourth on back-to-back hits.

The Lady Trojans’ lone run came in the bottom of the sixth. Tucker Earles reached on a single up the middle and later moved up to second on a wild pitch.

Sidney Armstrong then doubled to deep right field, and brought Earles home and knotted the game up at one.

Armstrong and Earles led the Lady Trojans at the plate, each going 2-for-4. Armstrong had the lone Charles Henderson RBI.

Kelcie Gibson went 2-for-3 with a double.

The Lady Trojans will be back in action on Thursday against Auburn. The matchup will be Charles Henderson’s 11th game against a 6A opponent in the 2014 season.
