“Tonight it finally all came together,” said Irons. “We had seen things here or there early, but tonight we saw how well this team can play when it all comes together.”

In game one, Reilly Fox and Chase Smartt combined to go 5-for-7, with three RBIs and four runs scored to lead the Trojans at the plate.

John Michael Stephens went the distance on the hill for the Trojans. He struck out six Wildcats, and scattered six hits.

In game two, Cole Wilson knocked in two RBIs with a pair of singles and Hunter Baggett also had a pair of RBIs.

Xavius Burden picked up the win, throwing six-and-a-third innings.

Burden struck out six, gave up 11 hits and walked only one batter.

Charles Henderson will return to the diamond on Monday to take part in the Gulf Coast Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala.

The Trojans will play Florence, Pinson Valley, Bob Jones and Pulaski (Ark.) Academy in pool play.

The championship round will be held on Thursday.
