Mildred W. Studdard

Mrs. Mildred W. Studdard, 92, of Benton, MS, formerly of Troy, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital, Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy, with Rev. Kevin Kelley and Rev. Allan Swindall officiating. Burial will follow in Mossy Grove Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the services.

She was born Oct. 9, 1921 in Pike County, AL to the late Thomas S. Whitehurst and Mable Ellis Whitehurst. She lived in Troy until a few years ago when she moved to Mississippi. She was a greeter at Wal-Mart, a sweet person and was loved by everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Thomas and Adrain Whitehurst and a twin Morris Whitehurst; a sister, Rae Swindall.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Alice and Clem Sudbeck, Benton, MS; grandchildren: Mary and Sara Sudbeck, Pensacola, FL, grandson: Ethan Starr, Pensacola, FL; sisters: Jewel Long, Montgomery, AL, Doris Kelley, Niceville, FL; several nieces and nephews.
