Retired Major, J.M. “Mack” Gregory, age 91, a resident of Troy died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Reverend Mack Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in the Elam Cemetery in Goshen. Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2013 from 1-2 PM at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Survivors include; Wife of 58 years, Frances Golden Gregory, Daughters, Lavoy (Daryl) Betts , Rachel Gregory, Debra (Paul Bowen) Motes, Laura (Phillip) Ellis, Grandchildren, Gregory Motes, Meaghan Lane Ellis, Mackenzie Lane Gregory, Sister, Eloise Gregory Carpenter, Sister in law, Norma Golden Mcleod, Brother in law, Jeff (Linda) Golden, Numerous nieces and nephews, Major was preceded in death by his parents, James Marvin and Carrie Folmar Gregory, Brothers, Marvin Lane Gregory, Derwood Gregory and Bertrum Gregory.

Major was a 31 year veteran of Law Enforcement , serving as the Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Troy at his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, throughout his life his free time was spent fishing, hunting and working in his famous gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be, John Dillard, Louis Fannin, Phillip Ellis, Alan Boothe, Matthew Motes, Daryl Betts and Jeff Golden. Honorary pallbearers will be the Troy Police Department and the Pike County Sheriffs Department.
