An arrest has been made in the Sept. 26 purse snatching that happened outside the Piggly Wiggly on U.S. 231.

According to information from the Troy Police Department, an 18-year-old black male was arrested Friday morning in the 400 Block of North Knox Street for the crime.

Due to the suspect being eligible for youthful offender status, his name and mug shot will not be released, pending a youthful offender hearing.

The suspect was charged with first-degree theft of property and transported to the Pike County Jail where he is being held on a $5,000 bond.

The case is still under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
