Rex Arnold Grimsley

Rex Arnold Grimsley, age 88 of Mathews, AL died Monday, September 30, 2013. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00 am from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with James Ivey officiating. Interment will be held in the Union Primitive Cemetery near Colquitt, Georgia Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 3:00 pm central time 4:00 pm eastern time with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Grimsley was born September 20, 1925, the son of the late William Crawford and Lucille Grimsley.

A natvie of Colquitt, GA, Mr. Grimsley was a World War II veteran in the Pacific Theater. A sergeant in the 10th Air Service Squadron of the Army Air Forces, he saw active duty in the Phillippines, Le Shima and Korea.

Mr. Grimsley is survived by his widow Betty Grimsley and their four children: JoAnne King (William King) of Denver, CO, Rheta Grimsley Johnson (Hines Hall) of Luka, MS, Sheila Reid of Louisville, KY, and Ellis Grimsley (Beth) of Clarkesville, GA. He was the proud grandfather of Ben King, Chelsey and Scott Reid and Will, Benjamin and Olivia Grimsley.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to Union Primitive Cemetery Fund, Ameris Bank, Colquitt, GA 39837 or Hospice Advantage..
