The Goshen Lady Eagles continued their winning ways Monday afternoon with a three-set sweep of Red Level. Goshen defeated the Lady Tigers 25-4, 25-18 and 25-8.

Goshen (5-0) started the first set on a 17-0 run, and used to the momentum to score the big win. The opening run was something head coach Amy Warrick had never seen before.

“I have seen us jump ahead, but never anything like that,” Warrick said. “Haley (Hughes) was on today, as were all of our serves. We served the ball well today, and were able to get up early and run our set plays.”

The competition level will rise throughout the week for the Lady Eagles. After a trip to Highland Home on Tuesday, Goshen will turn its attention to a tournament in Troy this weekend, that features two of the area’s top teams.

“We will have to on our game the rest of the week,” Warrick said. “G.W. Long and Ariton will be in the tournament this weekend, and we will find out how good we are. They are always tough, and have good rotation on defense. This is a big week for us.”
