Jack Brantley Davis, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 26, 2013 in Birmingham after a brief illness. Jack was retired from Hendricks Home Center and previously worked for Colonial Bread in Dothan and Troy and served in the US Army. His joy was his family and gardening at his farm. There is a big Davis Reunion going on in heaven with his parents, William Roger and Dora Green Davis, his siblings, Bunt Davis, Dacre Green Davis, Sr. Pallye Davis Daughtry and Jim Davis, his daughter, Rita Lorraine Davis, his nephews, Dacre Green Davis, Jr. and Roger Davis, and his long-time companion, Ella Mae Golden.

He is survived by his children, Jackie Davis (Holly), Barbara Sloan (Wayne), Cathy Patterson (Eric), Brant Davis (Mary) and their mother, Ann Green Trucks; his grandchildren, Dominic Roybal (Johnna), Kristin Bunn, Lyndsey, Davis and Amanda Sloan and Nick and Shelby Patterson; four great grandchildren, J’den, Brooklynn, Gavin, Tatum and another on the way; his sisters in law, Mary Lee Davis, Ona Myrle Davis, Nell Davis and Sue Green Rachlin; his brothers in law, Harwood Daughtry and Jimmy Green; numerous nieces and nephews as well as his like-family friends, W.L. Stallings, Gay Phelps, Gary and Debbie Hughes and Vince Newman.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 30th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy and other times at Jack’s farm on Henderson Highway. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home with Dr. Ellis Bush officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing.
