The Each One, Reach One Leadership Celebration Saturday will feature events in downtown Brundidge and at Camp Butter and Egg in Troy.

Karen Rouse, celebration committee chair, said the Each One, Reach One Leadership Celebration was formed to incorporate all hands linked together for fun, fellowship and festivities.

“This is a joint effort for all area churches, businesses and citizens to rally together to celebrate leadership,” Rouse said. “For businesses, it will be an opportunity to let people know who they are and what services they provide. For churches, it’s an opportunity to celebrate their leaders and a time of fellowship. For citizens, it’s a time to reach out and meet their neighbors and become aware of the local services available to them.”

The Leadership Celebration will get underway at 9 a.m. with a parade in downtown Brundidge.

Rouse said the parade will follow a Main Street route and will feature a variety of entries from floats to come alongs.

“We have entries from all around the area and from as far away as Miami,” she said. “The parade will be a lot of fun and a great beginning for the Each One, Reach One Leadership Celebration. Following the parade, we’ll have entertainment, arts and crafts, food booths and information booths on the grounds of Brundidge City Hall.”

The activities in downtown Brundidge will conclude around 4 p.m. in order to give the participants time to travel to Camp Butter and Egg for the birthday celebration for Bishop S.D. James, chief executive officer of the S.D. James Evangelistic Association.

“The birthday celebration for Bishop James will be the grand finale of the Each One, Reach One Leadership Celebration,” Rouse said.

“We’ll have entertainment and all kinds of games for all ages – kickball and softball, mother and daughter races and father and son races and tug of war.

“There will be a lot to do. It will be a time of fun and fellowship for everyone and it’s all free, so we invite everyone to join us as Saturday night as we continue our Each One, Reach One Leadership Celebration.”

Rouse said the daylong celebration is designed to bring unity into the community, increase health awareness and promote community harmony.
